Heat shock response dominates transcriptional induction

The largest and most strongly induced gene category under spaceflight are heat shock response genes, comprising half of all >5-fold changes and most of the very strongest inductions. This suggests acute proteotoxic or misfolded protein stress is sensed by cultured Arabidopsis cells in microgravity.
