Early CAX1 downregulation linked to tolerance

The CAX1 gene is among the earliest to be downregulated in wildtype response to elevated magnesium sulfate. Comparison to the cax1-1 mutant, which is relatively tolerant, indicates this downregulation may functionally contribute to tolerance mechanisms.
